Nirmal Pandey (10 August 1962 – 18 February 2010) was a renowned Indian actor, NSD graduate, singer and theatre director. His breakthrough came with his role in Bandit Queen (1994), followed by acclaimed performances in Daayraa (1996)—which earned him Best Actor at France’s Valenciennes Film Festival—Train to Pakistan (1998), Godmother (1999) and on TV, as Dajjal in Hatim (2003). He also released the album 'Jazba' (1999), directed the play Andhayug (2002), and founded the Fresh Talent Academy in Ghaziabad. He passed away from a heart attack in Mumbai on 18 February 2010 at age 47.
