Pinaki Misra is a seasoned Indian politician and senior advocate. Born on October 23, 1959, in Cuttack, Odisha, he began his political career with the Indian National Congress, winning the Puri Lok Sabha seat in 1996. Later, he joined the Biju Janata Dal and served as a Member of Parliament for Puri from 2009 to 2024. A graduate of St. Stephen's College and the Faculty of Law at Delhi University, Misra has an extensive legal career, practicing in the Supreme Court and various High Courts across India. In May 2025, he married Trinamool Congress MP Mahua Moitra in a private ceremony in Germany.
