Suhasini Maniratnam is an Indian actress, director, producer, and writer known for her work across Tamil, Telugu, Malayalam, and Kannada cinema. She made her acting debut with 'Nenjathai Killathe' (1980), earning the Tamil Nadu State Film Award for Best Actress. She won the National Film Award for Best Actress for 'Sindhu Bhairavi' (1985). Suhasini has directed films like 'Indira' (1995) and the mini-series 'Penn' (1991). She co-founded Madras Talkies with her husband, renowned filmmaker Mani Ratnam. Beyond cinema, she is the founder of Naam Foundation, empowering single women, and served as the honorary consul for Luxembourg from 2015 to 2020.
